The reality of cage farming is a large-scale animal cruelty operation far beyond our imagination. Scared, abused and stressed, animals in cages are often subjected to short and extremely miserable lives. From being caged to being slaughtered, many of them never see the light of day. Their dirty, crammed cages barely leave them enough room to move or to spread their legs and wings. This leads to the animals having to fight over the little space that they have. In many farms, animals left dead next to their terrified live companions is a common sight. This not only creates a health hazard but also proves the inhumanity of this practice.
Update: first milestone reached on 11th of September 2019! Over 1.5 million signatures.
We reached the first milestone with the official End the Cage Age - European Citizens' Initiative on 11 September 2019 with 1,500,000 participating EU citizens. This was a historic date. Now, the signatures will go through an official validation procedure to ensure their eligibility. We would like to thank all the people who already signed! Without supporters like you, this movement against cruel cage keeping would never have been possible. But the fight is not over yet and you can continue to support us by joining the movement!
