Tell the NSW Premier & Ministers to Oppose the NSW Hunting Bill!

Right now, a dangerous new bill is being debated in NSW Parliament — and animals across the state could pay the price.

The Game and Feral Animal Control Amendment (Conservation Hunting) Bill 2025, introduced by the Shooters Party and backed by the NSW Labor Government, threatens to hand over 50,000 hectares of public land to recreational hunters. If passed, this bill would:

  • Create a “right to hunt”
  • Expand hunting access on public land
  • Establish a Minister for Hunting
  • Legalise silencers and night shooting — increasing animal suffering and public risk
  • Introduce bounty schemes that pay people to kill animals

This bill isn’t about conservation — it’s about cruelty. It puts animals like dogs, cats, pigs, goats, and rabbits in the firing line. Many will suffer slow and painful deaths, while orphaned young and native wildlife could be caught in the crossfire.

Leading animal welfare and wildlife conservation experts oppose this bill. Bounty systems are ineffective, costly, and promote indiscriminate killing — with no guarantee of targeting the right species.

We must act now. This bill is being debated right now. Without NSW Labor’s support, it cannot pass. Tell Premier Chris Minns to reject this dangerous legislation.

Send this letter today urging the Premier to:

  • Oppose the “Conservation Hunting” Bill
  • Reject silencers, bounty schemes, and expanded hunting access
  • Protect animals, people, and the environment
  • Make only science-based, humane and sustainable decisions
